FAQ

Collection Release

Next Collection Release Date will be on the top of the website, I usually release a drop of 10-20 pieces once a month, they will sell out fast so make sure to sign up for the newsletter to be the first to know  when it will be released.

Repeat on Designs

Each piece is handmade so there will never be two exact but I will bring back my favorite designs every year. If there is a specific design I made in the past that you'd like to see again, don't hesitate to message me. I like to know what my customers like to see regularly so I can consider putting them on rotation.

Custom Jewelry

I do NOT offer custom pieces but I do make MTO pieces. MTO/Made to order pieces are rings that are waiting to be finished according to the size of ring ordered.

Ring Size

I sell a reusable ring guide you can use to measure your fingers https://botanicaljeweler.com/products/ring-measuring-tool

Or you can go to your nearest jewelry store to have them measure your finger

Bracelet size and adjustments

-Measure the circumference of your wrist minus 1/2" is your bracelet size. For example: my wrist measures at 6" so I wear a size 5.5" bracelet

-In most cases, I can make a bracelet smaller if needed. Depends on the bracelet, please message me before purchase to confirm I can make it smaller for you, all depends on the bracelet.

-If you need to make small adjustments to your bracelet, please watch my video on how to adjust bracelets to help guide you

Put on a bracelet properly

-Most people don't know this but there is a safe way to put on a bracelet without bending it. I have seen people over and over again forcing, stretching and squeezing their bracelets while putting it on. No wonder their bracelets don't last. Sterling silver it's a strong metal but if you were to repeatedly bend the bracelet, it will weaken the silver and eventually break. This video will teach you how to put on a bracelet without forcing it so it can last a lifetime.

Will the jewelry Tarnish?

All fine metals can tarnish over time. Metals like brass and copper tarnish faster while sterling silver and gold will last. The secret to preventing your jewelry from tarnishing is the way you store and care for your pieces. Do not store your jewelry in the bathroom as the humidity in a closed up environment will cause jewelry to tarnish faster. Store your jewelry in separate zip lock bags and place them in a dark dry area.

To polish your jewelry I love using ' Connoisseurs Premium Edition Compact Jewelry Wipes' They're non-toxic dry wipes that works great for all metals. As for chains, the best way to get those sparking again is with Tarn-x you can find that on Amazon as well. I will show a demonstration on how I use both of those products in a video coming soon.

Will the jewelry turn me green?

It depends on your bodies chemistry.

A very small percentage of people are allergic to sterling silver. Don't get confused with the fashion jewelry which is sold as silver jewelry but made with nickel. Everyone I know is allergic to nickel jewelry it irritates the ears and turns green.

I use sterling silver and 14k gold filled on most of my jewelry which shouldn't turn you green unless you have allergies to fine metals or have a high PH level. High PH level people find out within the same day wearing sterling silver jewelry when it turns black immediately. It's shocking. The only metals you should expect to turn you green are copper and brass. It's natural for copper to turn you green as it pulls toxins from your skin. That's why you will hear people say copper is a healing element and helps with circulation. The green will easily wash off with soap and water. To prevent copper from turning you green you can line it with clear nail polish.

Fix Jewelry that needs repairing

I will fix jewelry that has been purchased from me. If you come across a flaw in one of my jewelry pieces please contact me at botanicaljeweler@gmail.com so I can help you with a solution. However, I do NOT repair jewelry created by someone else.

My pieces are made to last, but the Italian chains or clasp I use are out of my control. I can always fix or exchange those if theres a flaw. If a chain gets caught in something and breaks that's another story. I sell replacements if that's the case.

Something wrong with the stone

-Stone Fracture: Most turquoise have a hardness of a 5-6 on the mohs scale. This means it's perfectly normal for a turquoise stone to have hairline fractures especially when undergoing a lot of pressure or trauma like dropping or hitting your turquoise on a harder surface. Theres not much you can do about a fracture, they have special glues for stones but I personally wouldn't mess with glue. The only solutions are to have a new stone set or leave it as it is.

-Stone is rocking: When I make jewelry, the stone is safely secured in the setting because the silver bezel wraps around a flared base that holds the stone in place. It's normal if a stone rocks because they're not glued in they are held in place with bezel. If you play with the rocking stone by forcing it to rock as a habit, you will risk the bezel to weaken and stone will fall out. So don't rock your stones.
